Dr. Adrian Arya
Dr. Adrian Arya was raised on a dairy farm in Tempe. He remained in Arizona while earning his undergraduate degree in biology at Arizona State University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Dr. Arya went on to graduate with honors from Tulane Medical School in 1995. He then performed his residency at the University of Texas in Houston and the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
After completing his training, he returned to the Phoenix area and joined Biltmore Ear, Nose and Throat. Dr. Arya is board certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He is an active staff member at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Phoenix Children's Hospital. His practice involves all areas of pediatric and adult diseases of the ear, nose and throat.
Dr. Shawn Blick
Dr. Shawn Blick, M.D. is the founder and president of our expanding urology group, Valley Urologic Associates. He has practiced in Phoenix, Arizona for over 10 years. He completed his medical school training at Mount Sinai Medical School with honors, and he performed his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. In addition, his residency required him to complete 6 months of oncology (cancer) training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. As a urologist in private practice, Dr. Blick has continued to advance his knowledge and skills. He has attended multiple courses on advanced techniques for penile prosthesis insertion for erectile dysfunction, pelvic floor reconstruction for pelvic prolapse and stress urinary incontinence, laser surgery for BPH, cyroablation and robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomies for prostate cancer, and hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomies for kidney cancer. In the community, Dr. Blick has proven himself to be an excellent educator. He is an Adjunctive Faculty Member at Midwestern University (Osteopathic College of Medicine) and has been given an award for his teaching skills. Dr. Lynn Blunt
Dr. Lynn W. Blunt, Jr. completed his residency in Urology at The McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2003. Prior to joining Valley Urologic Associates, Dr. Blunt served as The Chairman for the Division of Urology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. During his term as Chairman, Dr. Blunt was responsible for educating residents and medical students at the The University of Chicago Urology Residency Program and The Chicago Medical School, respectively. Furthermore, Dr. Blunt also served as the institution's Physician Liaison to The Commission on Cancer for The American College of Surgeons, making Dr. Blunt a leading authority in Urologic Oncology. Dr. Blunt is experienced in all areas of general urology; however, Dr. Blunt is an expert in the evaluation and management of traumatic urologic injuries as well as reconstructive urology. Dr. Blunt's former experience was at a Busy Level-One Trauma Center, providing Dr. Blunt with a unique and special skill set for the Phoenix Market. Dr. David Bowne

Dr. Bowne was raised in the Midwest. After obtaining his B.S. in biology he worked several years in molecular biology, immunology and microbiology before pursuing his medical degree at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He graduated with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor society for his accomplishments in medical school. He completed his residency in the department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at St. Louis University School of Medicine.
After residency, he formed a successful solo practice in which he practiced all major areas of pediatric and adult ENT for six years with an emphasis on pediatric and sinus related problems. He has been active in and served as past president of his county medical society and active in his state otolaryngology medical society chapter.
Dr. Bowne is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is on staff at Phoenix Children's Hospitals, Good Samaritan and St. Joseph's Hospital.

Dr. Daniel Charous
Dr. Charous grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences, in Ithaca, NY. He obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience. He was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, made Dean’s List, and graduated with Distinction in all Subjects.
After graduating, Dr. Charous attended the New York University School of Medicine in Manhattan. He excelled in his clinical years and earned a position to study Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He trained with nationally recognized experts in head and neck surgery, sinus surgery, voice surgery, and facial plastic surgery.
At the completion of his training, Dr. Charous joined Dr. Taffet and Dr. Arya at Biltmore ENT. Dr. Charous is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is an active staff member at St. Joe's, Banner Good Samaritan, and Phoenix Children's Hospitals. Dr. Charous practices all aspects of general otolaryngology, and has particular interests in rhinology and laryngology. Dr. Pankaj Jain
As a leader in academics, Dr. Jain completed a combined medical and business program, receiving his M.D. degree from Northwestern University School Medical School and his M.B.A. in health services management and finance from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. He finished his residency in urology at Northwestern University and is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Jain’s practice interests include laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, including robotic assisted surgery, oncology, stones, erectile dysfunction, female urology, and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). Most exceptionally, Dr. Jain has a strong training and extensive experience in robotic radical prostatectomies, and is regarded as a leader in robotic assisted surgeries in the West Valley.
In the community, Dr. Jain serves as the Chairman of the Department of Urology for the multi-specialty group, Integrated Medical Services (IMS). Dr Jain was recently honored in Phoenix magazine’s 2009 special edition of “Top Doctors” as a leader in Urology as chosen by his peers.

Dr. Douglas Mangan
Dr. Douglas Mangan specializes in Sports Medicine, Advanced Techniques in Arthroscopic Surgery, and Fracture Care. He is Board Certified and Fellowship trained. He currently serves as a consultant to the Cleveland Indians, where he assists in the care of the athletes during the Spring Training season and their rehabilitation throughout the year.

Dr. Douglas Mangan joined Valley Orthopedics, formerly West Valley Orthopedics, in 2004. Born and raised in Connecticut, Dr. Mangan received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Biomechanics at the University of Massachusetts, and then attended medical school at the University of Connecticut. Upon completion of his surgical training at the Southern Illinois University Orthopedic Residency Program, he participated in a Sports Medicine fellowship in Palo Alto, California where he was on staff at Stanford University Medical Center and assisted in the medical care of the Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks, USA Rugby, San Jose Stealth, and San Jose Sabercats. Dr. Grant Padley
Dr. Grant Padley specializes in Sports Medicine with an emphasis on treating knee, shoulder, hip, and elbow injuries. He performs shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee arthroscopy with ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and joint replacement. He is the team physician at Estrella Foothills High School in Goodyear, and is Board Eligible and Fellowship trained. Dr. Padley is an orthopedic consultant and provider to the Cincinnati Reds for major league baseball spring training and throughout the year for their minor league and rookie league teams.

Dr. Lawrence Shank

Dr. Larry Shank established Valley Orthopedics, formerly West Valley Orthopedics, in 2001. Raised in rural Nebraska, Dr. Shank received his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and then received his medical degree at the University of Nebraska. He completed his orthopedic training at Texas Tech University in El Paso, TX, and then served 10 years in the U.S. Army.

Dr. Jeffrey Taffet
Dr. Taffet came to Arizona in 1986. He graduated from Syracuse University Magna Cum Laude where he majored in Biology and Fine Arts. He completed his medical education at New Jersey College of Medicine and his residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He also completed a fellowship in Head and Neck reconstruction and was an assistant professor of Surgery at the State University in New York. He is a Member of The American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgeons, The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as State and County Medical Societies. He serves on the Physician Advisory Board of Diver Alert Network. He has performed over 15,000 sinus, and Head and Neck procedures.
He is an active scuba diver and skydiver, and enjoys hiking the slot canyons of Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. He has participated in Samaritan’s Outreach Program for 13 years which has delivered specialty medical care to outlying and rural areas of Arizona and the Navajo Nation. In 2000, Dr. Taffet was awarded Physician of the Year by Phoenix Memorial Hospital for his contributions.
